Kulay was two days absent this week from Monday to Tuesday and since he complained about his tooth aching before he got ill, we attribute the fever to his tootache. This was the first time that my son complained about his tooth aching although he has a set of badly rotten teeth.
I brought Kulay to a dentist yesterday and I still feel bad and anxious until now. The dentist showed me a lump near Kulay’s aching teeth and this shows my son really had to have either a tooth extraction or a root canal. Children are generally advised to have tooth extraction when they reach the age of 6. My son is only 5 but the complication may “go to his brain or the heart”. I feel so bad about this.
The doctor already gave some medication to ease the pain and reduce the swelling and after a week, Kulay can have his extraction. The dentist is a general dentist (I really had a hard time looking for a pediatric dentist in Davao City) and I already told hubby I plan to look for a pediatric dentist by Saturday. I might get a different option or recommendation. I do not want to sound so OA about putting much emphasis on looking for a dentist specializing in children but we are talking about my son here. I only want the best that we can at least afford to look after his teeth. Teeth complications are no joke and I want a doctor specializing on young children as mine to give me the advice.
I also plan about having dental fillings in my son’s decaying teeth.
